Mark your calendars and set your DVR’s.

Nineteen games are scheduled to air from next month’s Summer Olympics on the NBC family of networks, according to a schedule obtained today by USA Team Handball. In addition, most, if not all games, are slated to be aired via streaming video at www.NBCOlympics.com .

France-Angola (9:30 a.m. EST) and Russia-South Korea (1:30 p.m.) lead off the action in women’s play on Saturday, August 9 on MSNBC. Olympic Men’s Handball coverage begins the following day, when Croatia and Spain clash (1:30 p.m.), also on MSNBC. On the women’s side, NBC plans to air 11 games in total, including three first-round games involving France, and two each involving South Korea, Germany and Russia. On the men’s side, every broadcast features a matchup of European teams. The host country, China, as well as Chile, Brazil, South Korea, Iceland and Egypt receive no love from NBC and are not scheduled to appear in group play broadcasts. NBC’s plans include 11 first-round games, two quarterfinals, three semis, both gold medal games and the women’s bronze medal game.
