About USATH
MISSION STATEMENT
The Mission of the USA Team Handball (USATH) shall be to develop, promote, educate and grow the sport of Team Handball at all levels in the United States and to enable United States athletes to achieve sustained competitive excellence to win medals in international and Olympic competition.
USA Team Handball is the only organization recognized by the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) and International Handball Federation (IHF) to lead handball initiatives in the United States.
VISION
Team Handball represents one of the last sporting frontiers in America. The immediate goal of USA Team Handball, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the founding of a federation and the 25th anniversary of the Los Angeles Olympics, is to restore hope, dignity and traction to the sport's faithful, energize a growing base of players and create an all-new model for international success.
USA Team Handball is simultaneously working to support and grow:
- The national club structure, culminating in National Championships in April-May
- College clubs and intramural programs, culminating in College Nationals in April
- Grass roots programs such as Boys & Girls Clubs, YMCA's, schools
- Senior Men's and Women's National Teams with the goal of competing internationally and qualifying for the 2012 or 2016 Olympic Games
- Developing Youth National teams and the first USA Youth National Championships July 30-Aug. 2, 2009 in Colorado Springs, CO
USA Team Handball is headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, with regional staff in California, Texas, Illinois, Florida and New York.
